Dear colleagues,

after having been forced to cancel the meeting two times I am now confident that this year it will be possible to have a "normal" Symposion from Sunday, June 12, 2022 afternoon, till Saturday, June 18, 2022 after breakfast without restrictions.

The theme stays the same as announced for 2020:
Vertical and Horizontal Cross Sections,
meaning to follow a theorem, an organisation or a person through several years; or to consider developements which happened at the same time.

Miesenbach and the hotel Boersenhof were much appreciated on the previous occasions and will welcome us again, already for the nineth time.

For those who have not yet been there:
Miesenbach is a small and idyllic village between the valley of the Piesting (train station) and Puchberg am Schneeberg (another train station), in a valley between the mountains Hohe Wand and Oehler.  Nearby, there are many possibilities for hiking, ranging from an easy walk to a nearby waterfall, to alpine climbing, and for sightseeing, as well.   For instance, Miesenbach offers a museum dedicated to Friedrich Gauermann (an Austrian painter of the Biedermeier era), you may also visit the Mariahilferberg, a place of pilgrimage near Gutenstein, the Raimund memorial (Raimund was an Austrian author of popular plays), and many other places.

The given price includes all meals from Sunday evening to Saturday morning buffet breakfast, choice of warm dishes (also vegetarian) for lunch and dinner), the transfer from and to the railway station Miesenbach-Waidmannsfeld, an excursion and the proceedings.

The indicated costs include all meals from Sunday evening to Saturday morning (buffet breakfast, and a choice of warm dishes [also vegetarian] for lunch and dinner), the transfer from and to the railway station Miesenbach-Waidmannsfeld, an excursion, and the proceedings.

In addition, we can help to arrange a transfer from and to the airport (if needed).

All rooms have bath, toilet, Sat-TV. The category A rooms are in the new building, they are larger and have a balcony. You may choose the category of the room on a first come, first serve, basis.
Please note: Choices from two years ago are not longer valid.

As usual, a proceedings volume of the meeting will be published, with short versions (approximately 5 pages) of the talks. You can keep your contribution from 2020 or change it.

Please reply by the end of April 2022 with a preliminary title of your talk, your preferred room type, or if you just wish to be kept informed.

I send this, of course, to all colleagues known to me, but in order to reach as many as possible of those interested in the history of athematics, I ask you to help me distribute this announcement. Please feel free to forward it to anyone who might be interested (or send me their names and addresses).

Further Information on the hotel and the village are found on the internet (www.boersenhof.at).

I am looking forward to welcoming you in Miesenbach this June.

Christa (Binder)
